The Graduate Program includes all the topics of pregnancy complications as well legal and bioethical issues which are related with pregnancy. This complications could be generally described as “Pathology of Pregnancy” pointing the “pathological” situations that are related with pregnancy (etymology: hellenic-πάθος=suffer + λόγος=speech, knowledge). The Director of the Program is Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology Nikolaos Papantoniou. Distiquinshed speakers from Hellenic and foreign institutions present the latest data in the pathology of pregnancy.
The modern facilities of the clinic are equal to international standards. New technologies and methods are being used, whereas well trained and experienced staff supports educational the goals of the program.

Aim

Purpose of the graduate program is to provide high quality education concerning the pathogenetic mechanisms, diagnosis and treatment of complications during the pregnancy. The program combines graduate courses and practical experience in clinical and scientific topics. Graduates of the Master Program can be employed public or private that require expertise concerning the management of issues related to the pregnancy’s pathology.

 

Post-graduate Degrees

A potential further doctoral dissertation is possible after successful attendance of the program in accordance with statutory provisions.

 

Categories of graduates, number of admissions

Graduate students are admitted if they meet the necessary criteria for the successful completion of the course (Graduates of departments of medicine and other departments of related universities or technical schools of domestic or equivalent, recognized, foreign departments).

 

Period

The studying period to get the Graduate Diploma is four (4) semesters. The maximum period within the program shall be completed is determined by the regulations of the state.

Distinguished scientists from Hellenic and Foreign Universities are participating in the teaching program.


Equipment

The 3rd Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the University of Athens has the necessary equipment and significant number of clinical cases in order to support the teaching goals of the Graduate Program.

 

Events & Lectures

Selected number of students who wish may fellow in clinics abroad, whereas an exchange program for nurses, midwifes and residents is going to take place during the next semester. During the program scientific meetings on topics related to Obstetrics and Gynecology are organised with distinguished invited scientists from Hellas and abroad who are giving related lectures.
